BOXMEN
Asian Moon Festival 2005 will forever change your notion of how you think about Asian dance. When Destiny’s Child performs in Tokyo this spring they’ve invited The Boxmen to be their opening act. The Boxmen will electrify you with their performance which can be described as tap dance powered by taiko drumming meets the street. This group has knocked the socks off audiences from Tokyo to Chicago. We think you’ll want to come all three days. This is only their second appearance in the U.S. and their only appearance this year anywhere in the U.S. They won’t be a Japanese secret much longer so be among the first people in Milwaukee to have a chance to see this hot dance group. CHIRGILCHIN
Chirgilchin, presented by Pure Nature Music, is touring the U.S and will be performing at Asian Moon Festival in their exclusive Wisconsin appearance. Experience the mystical sounds of the Central Asian Steppes as performed by these award winning throat singers from the Republic of Tuva. Throat singing has been passed down through the generations and is a musical form practiced no where else in the world. Also known as harmonic overtone singing; it is the ability to produce multiple notes simultaneously by controlling the flow of air over vocal chords. While difficult to explain, the effect is otherworldly. Come and experience the music of the ancient ancestors, the horseback warriors of the steppes!
